Aw, Laurel, sure ya can :-) Just write. If a dumbass farm kid liek me can do it, anyone can.

Pac, I looked at some info in Eragon and thought it is sure a nice idea. I wish I coudl find someone interested in taking on the epic I ahve began. Ah well. Back to the drawing board....but how do they pull it off? Who do ya grab? Who says yeah, that is a cool idea? Perhaps I know the answers and have sent out the queries, and no one is listening. If the idea isn't that good, well, thems the breaks. The 3 folks who have read or edited on this book say it is great stuff. Shrugs...

Got my copies of THE BLACKEST DEATH VOL 1 hardback via UPS today. What a sensational production! Great work and awesome production values. My story HARBINGER is in that one. The tale of a modern wizard with a terminal illness...and a slight flaw in his line of vision...that grows larger as he pays some dues...

I see on the updated page at BLACK DEATH that the sequel to the just ready for pre-order BULLETPROOF SOUL in on the list of stuff to be released....the full length Dack Shannon book STRONGER THAN DEATH.

Sure. Not as much as I would like, though. If I ever get some real rest, I can really think of new material to write.

I wonder if melatonin is the secret?

If you are a fan of Morrison, or just weirdo tales, Brian, ya may like that one. :-)

I just won 3rd place in a contest for writing a high fantasy tale, but I cannot announce all the details yet :-)

Oh yeah, my futuristic barbarian tale "We'll Always have Paris" will appear in the FREAKY FRIGHTS anthology this spring.

Way to go Steve, that's excellent. Yeah, I like the "Morrison" one... twisted. I especially liked the way you wrote the different accents. I've always found that difficult to do. You made it look easy, way to go man... talk to ya...

Steven,
Just read "Prince of Lizards Though I Be". Kudos! Definitely a fun read. I was heavy into Morrison when I was in high school, (going on fifteen years ago), and it was fun to "revisit" the topic. I love the references to the "larger" world of wizarding and their "rules". It made the story that much more believable. And, as Brian said, you did a great job with Dr. Mojo's accent. Great!

Thanks Brian and SF! Yeah, I almost thought I overdid it with the accent, but the few Cajuns I have met pretty much talk that way...so thanks for reading. I wrote this tale a few years ago when I read a conspiracy story that Morrison was still alive...his dad in Naval intelligence or some such stuff...but one thing led to another and there it was.

My pal Chad furnished some great pics of Mardi Gras and the voodoo museums for inspiration as well...

The results of the 2004 Quantum Barbarian of the Year writing contest are in!

First Place – "The Cure" by Joseph D’Lacey

Second Place – "Medium Tedium" by Sunny Frazier

Third Place – "Barbarian Talisman" by Steven L. Shrewsbury

Hey, I even get CASH for that!!!

My tale "From Darkness Abysmal" appears in the new eBook (soon to be
paperback) anthology from Cyber-pulp titled KINGS OF THE NIGHT I. Below is
the Fictionwise link. I seem to have been given a dual header on it, but I
penned but one tale :-)
