Hi everybody! Is this were PA renegades and expatriots go after they've been banned? Cause, I just banned myself. HI Lynnie! And HB, if you're still here reading this, you just made asses of yourself, your two cronies, and PA. F-off, a-hole! You just lost PA another formerly proud supporter and whatever the hell else I happen to have been.

I am so disgusted my this business. I'm through with them.

You tell 'em, Diana! Glad to see you here. This really is a wonderful place to be. I love CE and all the others here, but he is the one who has really lived through the terrible things PA can and has done to one writer.

Just pull up a chair and sit your self right down at the table and pile on the food for thought, plenty of it here. And want to know something else? No one will ever judge you, make fun of you, poke fun at you and belittle you for how you feel about things. It's wonderful to be in a place that one is not afraid of pi**ing someone off.

Thanks Violet! It's interesting, I just posted two messages over there (the PA board) declaring my self-banning and neither message made up. They are so paranoid over there, it's not funny. Or, maybe, it is...

Lynn Price,

I can understand what you must be feeling. I wish you all the best, but I’m sure you will make it on your own.

And if some little schoolboy tries to drag you through the mud you should not worry about it. You are capable to wash your face, but the schoolboy is too little to clean himself. Forgive him, he is just a kid.

Try to put this nonsense behind you as soon as possible, it isn’t worth it. Get behind your keyboard and write another book. You have some funny anecdotes to tell about little schoolboys!

Hi Diana! Don't mind the note I just sent you then...

well, PA shows their true colors in the end, and so does HB and his goon squad with antics like this... any writer with an ounce of professionalism in their body would run and hide when dealing with crybabies like this...

not to mention a foul mouth... it may be cute and quaint to use in your book for impact, but all it does is show your immaturity and your juvenile attitude in postings...

Diana! Geez, it's like old home week, eh? You'll find the people over here are extremely kind and helpful. As for HB, well, maybe he'll decide to have a few beers and figure denegrating my reputation with lies isn't as much fun as he thought. I'm only grateful my life is full and wonderful and that I have much better things to think about than how to make life miserable for one unimportant woman. He's insignificant, petty and demeaning.

Yeah, Lynn. I've been checking things out here. It seems real nifty and nice. And no armed guards or anything...

"And no armed guards or anything..."

LOL! And they also serve food! Something else we were denied at the 'banquet'. Now, who was it who offered cookies?

I'm glad HB can post here, if it is going to be an attack on him, he should be able to say something on his own behalf. That's the whole problem is that people get banned from PA and then anyone can say anything they want and the banned person can't defend themselves. You just watch helplessly as your name is smeared by people who were once your "friends".

I can't believe it, but Publius2 said something I agree with. "It's not about the authors. It's about the company." If I say I don't like McDonald's that doesn't mean I hate every McDonald employee. It's the same with PA. Jeeze.

I do think y'all are giving HB a lot more credit for Lynn's banning than he deserves. He's just loud. There are others who carry a bigger stick. I don't even know if HB was there when I got banned the first time. I don't remember ever really conversing with him. Although, I was unbanned by the time that happened with C.E., so I'm sure I said something to him then. Although, I can't be sure. I was banned a total of three times before I finally quit trying.

Anyway, at least H.B. is predictable and you aren't overly surprised by his words or actions. It's a lot worse when it's someone who's smiling and chatting with you mere moments before.

Ah well, what's past is past. I'm stepping out of this one and letting the new people have it.

Welcome, welcome....Lynn, I did tell you so. It doesn't matter what good you're doing if you start to shatter the illusion, you're out on your butt.

Okay, I have to ask. What is this thing about no food at a banquet? Isn't the idea of serving food kind of the reason for a banquet?

What happened?

From what I've read over on the PA board (what can I say, I was getting bored), it sounded like someone pulled a fire alarm in the middle of the banquet...for some reason, they weren't able to go back and get more food?? Who knows?

There was one statement made about the armed guards laughing right before (maybe it was after) the alarm was pulled...that was rather interesting reading...

But then I wasn't there...and I believe there are some convention-goers in our midst, if they know what actually happened...

Well, Todd, I think it started with not having enough food to be served to everyone in the first place. Some say that's why the fire alarm was pulled to get the folks out of the room and lock the doors so they would stop complaining about not having enough food to go around.

But since I was not there, thank goodness, I really can't tell the story. BUT, Lynn Price and Diana Hignutt were both there, maybe they will come back and fill in what happened.

now, see... THAT I don't get.

any catering company worth their dollar knows how many people are going to show up and how much food to cook and bring - even if it were the hotel catering the affair themselves, they would have been told "Hey, there's 100 people" or such to get the staff prepared and all that.

sounds to me like PA wanted to undercut the cost and pocket a nice little profit and deliberately told the hotel serving staff that less people were going to come; hoping that some of their authors who had pre-paid wouldn't show and PA could just keep the money.

there's NO reason a banquet should run out of food... and if the people there didn't ask any questions, they're more the fools than I thought. Sounds to me like PA managed to empty their pockets yet again and turn them out into the street hungry... any sane person would have backed Meiners up to the door and demanded either a refund from the hotel or from PA directly for sending them out hungry into the night - nevermind the unprofessional attitude displayed...

of course, they DO have HB as a spokesman, so...

as usual, jmo ymmv...

Violet is right about the banquet issue. There wasn't enough food for 300 people. The grumbling wasn't all from empty stomachs, either. People were angry that they'd paid for a banquet and didn't get any food. We lucked out since our table was near the pasta bar. They served a ton of pasta so no one would mind the fact that one ham, one turkey and one slab of beef was all the protein you were going to get.

At 8:15 people were sitting around wondering what they were going to do until 11 pm when the buses were due to return us to the hotel. That was when the fire alarm went off. Oddly enough, none of the guests evacuated. Just us. And yes, Meiner, Clopper and the goon squad were laughing...I saw it and so did the people who were sitting at our table.

Hello Diana and Bill Nelson...I was banned in February...good to see some more familiar faces. Yo, CE, if we're going to keep getting more people in here, we're going to have to open an annex. *G*

This comedy of errors at the convention is getting better all the time. They desire cash for you to attend, under cut the FOOD, pull an alarm and the boss is giggling?
Why didn't anyone throw a pie?
Simple.
No one thought of it.
