I went to your site, Kevin, and I must say I really liked that graphic along the top and leftside. Did you do that yourself? It looks really cool.

No I used templates that my webhost had. I just picked the ones I liked and chose the colors. Did you like the stories?

I didn't use to like horror genre, and then I read Dirschel and Shrewsbury and a couple anthologies and......now I don't mind it at all.

Thanks Tracy, good to hear from you again.

Mark, I hope you like it. I am reading Simplicity now and am enjoying it. Your description of Pink is awesome. Made me think of the demon clown in Spawn.

Steve, I hear a lot of people like it.

Laurel, horror to me is the best. Nothing gets your blood going like that.

I thought this was a decent enough place to post instead of starting a new thread since the publisher in question is a horror publisher.

Has anyone heard of Night Shade Books, (www.nightshadebooks.com)?? Pred&Ed has nothing about them and I'm curious if anyone knows if they're on the up and up?
Any help would be GREAT! Thanks.

Tester, Night Shade Books has a good rep within the speculative fiction community. It publishes both originals and first US editions by well-regarded authors such as Graham Joyce, Tim Lebbon and Jeff Vandermeer, as well as classic reprints and some limited editions. Its books are reviewed in industry journals such as Locus. A very professional small publisher, and definitely on the up and up.

Me retire?
Perish the thought.
I was in St. Louis and points south for a few days.
Then a guy committed suicide in front of our train as we headed back.
Interesting time was had by all. They pulled pieces from out from udner the train and from down the tracks.
Conductor got on and ANNOUNCED it all to us.
My 5 year old asked "Dad, someone get dead?"
I affirmed that this was true and he went back to playing.

Nothign like seeing forearms put in baggies as we waited.
Ahwell. Good thing I got a stong stomach.

BTW, mentioning me in the same breath as Lebbon is an honor. He is a great guy privately as well.

However, there isn't much point in rehashing various aged topics here, so I really won't comment on such silly crap. However, every once and a while even I can be amazed.

eh, not me :-) I never dream. Serious.

I'm made of stern stuff and my faith is stronger than death. Sure, I got anger issues, but I can crush most anything with Jesus :-)

yup. i've seen train wreck victims brought in - but the ones i've seen are still clinging to life. bizarre sometimes to see just how much damage the body can sustain without giving up. of course, that doesn't pertain to the carnage you witnessed.
