I owe an apology to Fred Dungan.

It seems that in suspending Fred's account status here at the Mindsight Forum, I accidentally selected the 'ban' option rather than the 'suspension' option, which resulted in a complete banning of Fred's IP addressing.

I did not intend to do so, and in fairness to Fred, who e-mailed me with the information that made it clear I had selected the 'ban' option rather than 'suspend', I have changed his account status to 'suspended'.

As for the why of his supsension, I will simply state that Fred's recent statements to me offline make it clear that he is not interested in participating fairly in the membership areas of the forum. Fred has every right to disagree with the policies and practices of the Mindsight Forum, and I will say that I appreciate his honesty regarding those disagreements.

As I've said before, Fred is welcome to request reinstatement of his user status, and it will be granted once we come to an agreement regarding fair participation.

This message has gotten quite a bit longer than I intended, but as Fred is well-liked at the Forum (not excluding myself, actually), I wanted to make sure that everyone understands where this issue stands.

Fred, I'm sorry. I made a mistake, and appreciate your bringing it to me.

CE Winterland

No apology needed CEW. Fred should have been banned outright cause he's an asshole. And I'll tell him that to his face: FRED, YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE.

If I were ever predisposed to call someone bad names, I would not do it anonymously. When Fred made his points - regardless of whether anyone agreed or not - he did not do it anonymously. He spoke straight out and his name was attached.

Just what we needed, a fresh, new perspective.

Uh...you can't "tell him to his face" if you're hiding behind an assumed name. Of course, you can't do it online, either. After all, you're looking at a computer screen, not the person.

Whatever happened is between C.E. & Fred. I hope it gets resolved.

I am well aware that the subject incident is absolutely none of my business, but I did want to say that the aroma of "jucyfruit" is somewhat familiar!
I wonder who this master of the English language could be?

LOLOL, Bill. Aroma, indeed.

As for the rest, all I can say is, class act, C.E. You're not a man to stoop to the sidewalk so you can trip over your tongue. Your measured responses allow people their space, their passionate diatribes and everything in between. At least no one ever comes to blows on this board, and I like that.
