It's still beyond me why anyone would waste their time responding to drivel.

Sorry, CE, I'm still new to this board and didn't realize this wasn't a real live discussion about the questionable business practices of some agents. Yes, he was strident and I didn't catch on that he just wanted to fight. Ah well, I'm slow, I guess.

"Did PA f--k up your writing career too? Are you still going to be whining about PA 20 years from now? You and the others here need to get on with your lives cause legally all of you put together couldn't bust a grape."

Oh dear. Now I get it. Geez, I am slow. I didn't get a chance to read this post. Wow. The verbiage sounds strangely familiar...

IMO, the whole point of having an agent is being able to submit to the houses that accept only agented submissions, so it doesn't make sense to pay a commission to an agent for submitting to a publisher who accepts submissions from authors.

What don't you understand about that, Hersh old Buddy?

Joycie!! How are you, girlfriend? Gad, but I've missed you. I heard you've been given your privileges back. Congrats. I certainly do miss a number of people whom I got to know. Ah well, this is a lovely bunch, too.

Opinions are like buttholes...we all have one. We just don't announce it.

D.R., the purpose of prefacing a comment with "IMO" is so as not to assert that it's a fact and not be required to cite references in support of it. I do it as a residual habit of having been in a few online debates in the past.

I'll concede your point about buttholes with the assumption that you're an expert on the topic.

Joyce is a dummy like the rest of you. Joyce, what do you know about interpreting a legal contract? You could be signing away the rights to your book forever you idiot as some here practically did, including your cowardly leader CEW, who signed a contract with PA for 99 years or some ridiculous number. Only an informed author or a bad agent would go for such a deal. Do you understand Joyce that a book contract is a binding legal document once signed by both parties? What part of this don't you understand? Publishers that say an author don't need an agent but accept submissions from authors with agents are o.k.; it's the ones who insist the author doesn't have an agent and will not contract with an author who has an agent that you have to look out for. The longer this forum goes on the dumber some its participants gets.

Hmm . . . from the IP address, it appears Herschel is either a multiple personality or his live-in buddy can't remember how to spell his name.

Hersh, publishers who say "an author don't need an agent" won't be getting any submissions from me until they go back and pass third-grade English.

The sorry buttholes who frequent this forum are some of the most pathetic people in the world. You listen to dummies like Perry Comer and CEW who both signed away their rights for 99 years and are going to spend the rest of their lives bitching about it. A 10 year old knows better than that CEW. Can't you guys read and interpet a damn contract?

CEW is so pissed with PA he started this website with the sole intention of knocking and derailing PA. Hasn't worked yet has it CEW? I advise you knuckleheads not to go to any parties CEW gives and definitely don't drink any grape Koolaid he tries to serve you. Shouldn't you be using your time more constructively CEW? Keep this up and you'll be living under a bridge when you retire.

Joyce: you're a hopeless old biddy. I'm estimating your IQ is in the 60-73 range. Pretty close, right? THEY GOT SCHOOLS FOR YOU TO GO TO JOYCE.

How do you like WINGS now Perry? U Dummy! Sell any E-books? Didn't you say that Wings was a step up from PA? Well, how does your royalty check look? Was it more than $2.00? Enough to buy a Whopper? Did the bank teller laugh in your sorry puss when you deposited it, or to save face, did you deposit it at an ATM?

How is your career going CEW. Land with a major yet. LMTAO! (Translation: laughing my thick ass off.) Or, are you still wallowing in your own feces? Just funnin' with u CEW. We all know where your submissions to majors go--the circular filing cabinet. You need to stop trying to be a writer...you're killing too many trees...for nothing.

How come none of you can get an AAR agent? Or any big time agent (since most agents don't belong to AAR)? Could it be that you all STINK as writers and if it wasn't for PA none of you would be published authors? You all need to get on your knees and thank God that PA put your mediocre writings out at no charge to you instead of knocking them all the damn time. YOU LOSERS!

So-o-o, how is everyone's weekend going? Are you relaxing or working on a new manuscript? Read any good novels, lately? Care to post them?

Within the last year, I've read "Family Jewels" by T.Y. Green, "Cool Springs" by Patrica Nelson, "A Child's Intuition" by Dolores Dawes...couldn't put them down. I'm currently reading "Who is Carrie?" by Christopher & James Collier and "Sisters Forever" by Sharon Martin, respectively. Between reading, I'm workin on my latest novel, "Why Me?"

As stated in an earlier post, and I'm paraphrasing: "Writers are/were readers, before they become/became published authors."

Please share what you're reading. Perhaps, it will be a book that one of your fellow authors would like to purchase.

Have a wonderful Sunday.
Teena
