Thursday 6/24 should be story on PA/POD in San Antonio Current by Susan Pagani...I gave her some background/quotes, don't know what she will be able to use...but probably enough to have my books "vanish" mysteriously from Amazon...oh well, it is not like they are selling anyway...not at those prices...and without anyone knowing they are out there...

Good on you Conny. Hope all works as you want it to. Keep us posted about the story, I will try to look it up on the date, but please remind us again on that date to check it out, IF you could. I have so many things going on right now, that I am way behind on everything for my own needs.

Conny,
It was a good article, however, your words didn't come across as much as the other two writers who are happy with PA did. I wish that there would have been more about the problems and pitfalls that PA puts in front of its authors, and how they treat them when they start asking questions. The article sort of stated it a bit, but glossed over it with Prather's answer. I do wish that they had gome more in-depth with the problems. There are acertainly enough of them to do a full article, however, I can understnad the writers need to present a balanced story. It just would have been better if she had maybe had another author that was dissatisfied also, to balance with you against the other two that she found who were happy. She was a good reporter, and tried to be very honest, but really missed the problem of the whole company.

I do hope that it gets you released, though. Sometimes that is the only way to get what you wnat from a scam company.

BTW, there is a post on the PA board, Authors Lounge where a person saw an article, possibly the one that you were in and is really throwing the insults at whoever didn't know enough about the company and is nothing but a whiner of the worst nature, etc..... etc..... etc.... and then there were a few replies that echoed that sentiment. I am not sure if the post was a reflection of the article you appeared in, as athere may be other articles out there that were written yesterday, but, anyway, it has a few inflamed "over there."

Well, the post was there just a few minutes ago, and has been pulled already..... In the time I took to read that post on the PA board and then came here and logged into the SACurrent page and read their article, answer your post and went back to see the PA post, it was POOF, gone with the wind, up in the cyber wasteland already.... Must have gotten a few really sensitive posters inflamed this morning and really upset the rah-rah'ers.....

Excellent article. The author was unbiased speaking with two authors with different opinions. She was right on about the editing etc. PA is gonna be upset about this one.

I have to admit, I laughed at Prather's insistence that if you're not happy with your PA average of 70 sales, then you must have thought you were going to be Stephen King. Seems like there ought to be someplace to aspire to between 70 sales and Stephen King -- ya know?

It's definitely a revealing article for those with eyes to see and ears to hear.

A very good article - clear, concise and informative without bias.
For those who have never heard of PA, I think the message is clear "run".
As Ann said, "try the traditional houses first." PA is a last, last resort.

The author of the article said her editor cut it, so it may not have read as clearly as I had hoped. I had said far more than was quoted, as you might imagine.
Am waiting for my titles to "disappear" from PA and cyber space as a result...who knows!

I just read the article, and I thought it well done. It certainly doesn't put PA in a positive light, Prather didn't put any feathers in her cap either. Too bad more papers don't carry stories like that. I don't think many people will believe her words when they read that.
