I just went to the PA MB and read these and now I am looking at the sky waiting for the four horsemen to come, not to mention the wormwood falling from the sky. Is this the end??????????

Dear Marcus..

What a remarkable and cool guy you must be..I have just started to read your site, and I am absolutely bowled over into the your insight of the Publishing Business-- and all the BS that goes with it;

But more importantly I am wondering how in the world you ever got all those adresses of famous people? incl one of Charles Aznavour, to whom I had wanted to write for months now, to ask him for an authographed picture, for two of my sweet old neighbors, who like him, are Armenians and crazy about him.

Also Claudia Cardinale in Rome,, (who by the way I mentioned in my book.) For although she is thought of as an "Italian actress," she was really born in Tunisia ,Algeria and is thus a "Black foot" like me.

Now I will send her my book indeed; Think of this Marcus, how many passee'd personnalites like Olivia de havilland for instance, who will be happy,(I hope..)to receive mail from people who once admired them.. (though I don't know about Son o'Sam) Boy are you gonna get mail about him!

Anyway Marcus, I have just beguin to read the list and I was so excited about your site, that I have already send it to all my cool kids & friends.. least they think that I hang out with a bunch of boring authors here on P.A!

Whatever it is you're drinking or smoking Marcus, send some over will ya!

I am going to contact PA about starting a new message
board that focuses on potential scam alerts for authors.
There are so many editors, agents, and others in the
industry that are out to do authors harm, and as we find
them or experience them we should be able to warn
other so as to help protect each other.

This last one really got me since PA should be at the top of the list. But when someone says HB is their hero, man that guy really needs to broaden his horizons. When you say someone is your hero based on a website and info he compiled from other places you need some therapy. Hope he doesn't have high expectations of HB, he might be let down. And I'm glad this person thinks HB is the all know all of the publishing world, maybe we have HB all wrong? Maybe he doesn know everything? Naahhhhh. If he did he wouldn't be with PA.

Whoa up! You don't know who the originator of that was. Would you want to guess
where numerous other unusual postings came from? Maybe it was me! Maybe it was someone else.
I'll just make this one up. What if you started posting dirty stuff about your own book (just to get people to talk about it) and then howled at the moon about how unfair it was that your wonderful book was being trashed?
What if you did that? What if you used several different names with different e-mail accounts and posted all kinds of strange and unusual stuff around the net. What if? You don't know who those guys are. Hell, it could be Mieners himself for all we know (not saying it is, but it could be...)
Maybe it was H.B.'s uncle, or, or, or, well you get the picture...

Still, when Hb is your hero, you are seriously in trouble. If HB ever becomes my hero, shoot me. And unless HB's uncle wrote a book then he couldn't post on the board. It could be Meiners or another PA lackey, but I doubt it. Why would they take the time to pump up HB? He peumps them up, not them him. This isn't a two way street. It's a one way street and it runs right up HB's ole hind end, and we are not talking about little VW bugs here, we are talking about the 1950's crusiers baby.

PA wouldn't pump HB up, they have more problems to worry about. Like the fiasco with Bly. It sounds to me like a new writer who just joined the files and is looking for somebody to look up to. And it is sad when there are others there that could show him a better way then HB.

In re-reading the above, I'm kind of wondering if the poster isn't having a bit of fun, if the whole thing isn't done tongue in cheek. (And anyone's list can be out of date; if you think about it, if the list is long enough, it's out of date the day after you compile it.)

To wit, I'm not sure, but I think Mr. Aznavour and Ms. de Havilland are dead, and former sex kitten Ms. Cardinale long since retired. The only one still alive and kicking, alas, is good old Mark Berkowitz (Son of Sam). An old lady, a serial killer, and two corpses...I think sweet Pierette is having us on.

Just my opinion.

The Bly thing has to be the #1 laugh, but these are close.

I loved the idea of having PA starting a message board to report scams to warn authors.

I have wonderful news to report again. I am still moving up on the best seller list........now at 163. I haven't had a contract since May but they keep getting more books to sell.

I reported this and requested an audit and investigation of PA and Lightning Source from the IRS. You can do it without giving your name. I wrote them a letter but did use my name and even told them to visit this site to get an idea of the number of authors who find some of their practices, to be kind, questionable.

Some who feel they haven't been paid enough or at all, should report that you are a bit suspicious and would appreciate an audit and especially those without a contract who can't get them to remove the book..........The more complaints, the better.

Normally when I write these letters, I'm furious. This time I couldn't write for laughing so hard.

The number is 1 800 829 0433. I had requested the information from them but they refuse to communicate with me.

Actually, Olivia DeHavilland (Same family who built the WWII Bombers) just celebrated a birthday yesterday. I think she's 88.

Maybe I should go to HB's website, get Olivia DeHavilland addy and send her a letter asking her if she could send me a Bomber so that I can fly to Fredderick and bomb PA's offices. In the night of course, I wouldn't want to hurt the kids that work there.

Yeap the sky is falling,though HB probably wrote that. I would like to see if PA were to put a warning list on their board.
Molly good idea with the IRS, we should all contact them and ask them to check ole PAs books. Don't forget the so called used books sellers, they are selling new ones instead.
