Allison Knight, one of the talented Romance writers with Champagne Books, has a blog on which she posts interviews with characters from Romance novels. Although DIFFERENT ROADS is not a Romance, it IS a love story, so Allison has graciously included an interview this week with my heroine, Jaycee Stevens.

Please give it a read when you get a chance: http://www.mycharacters.blogspot.com/

Joyce, I read the interview with Jaycee. Now just to be clear regarding the blog, were Jaycee's responses crafted by you? Or did the blogger provide them based on her reading and understanding of the character after reading the book? In either case, it's a fresh and interesting device re promotion.

That's a pretty slick promo, JT. Jaycee is outspoken and comfortable with herself, but I'd like to hear Bud's side of the story...I mean, Jaycee is only a woman.

Bill, you know Bud's side of the story. He was a goner the first time she took off her shirt and hasn't looked back since!

Frank, I wrote the questions. The interviewer and the possible apprenticeship with the magazine come directly from the story and play a BIG part in what happens later on.

Let me tell you, romance writers in general (but especially the ones at Champagne Books) are marvels at coming up with promotional devices and are always thinking up cool things like this!

BTW, Jaycee actually has her own blog called "Jaycee's Rants", but it's even more woefully behind on updates than mine. There's some mildly funny stuff there, but since she's a Democrat and damn proud of it, most of the folks here probably won't like what she has to say. You can read her blog here if you want a laugh or two.
