(Why does the caged bird sing? Because he doesn't know any better!)

Hello everyone, Thanks for allowing me onto the board. I have been reading your posts and have enjoyed the camaraderie and respectful manner in which you all communicate on this forum. Of late, I have become another disgruntled PA author and as such have refrained from participating on their board. I am in disagreement with how Lynn was treated. I always found her posts to be pleasant and humorous. Why certain folks took it upon themselves to persecute her is beyond me. But then again maybe not. It is their usual modus operandi when dealing with differing views. I breathe the fresh air of freedom and smile widely.

Welcome Trina,

Tell us a bit about yourself and your book(s), so that we can get to know you better. I am sorry, but I am not familiar with your name used here, perhaps I would know it as what you have been known as over there, but maybe not. Sometimes it is hard to keep up with all the authors that come into PA.

Anyhowwwww, that said, I hope you will make yourself at home here and read the boards, there are many who have wonderful bits and pieces of knowledge to share, and many who will help you with all the little things that may niggle you every so often.

Come on in, sit a while and let us get to know you.

THanks, Claudia and John. On the PA board my screen name was tygree. My books are 'Family Jewels' and 'Strained Relations'. Of Late I am working on a sequel to Family Jewels and a contemporary Women's novel. This time I will seek a reputable traditional publisher who will really get behind me and my work. Here is a link to my webpage. http://hometown.aol.com/tfrankina/myhomepage/profile.html

Welcome Trina. I'm a PA author as well, and like Claudia I've been banned for daring to post elsewhere. Oh the shame of it all!

But you're right. The fresh air is a welcome change of pace. Enjoy the various threads, there really is stuff to learn here, and enjoy the company.

Hi Trina:

It's wonderful to see you posting here. I'm happy to have discovered this board. Feels great to know that I'm not amongst strangers. Gives you a warm feeling, doesn't it? Seems as if Mindsight has quite a following of PA authors...and I'm sure there will more with each passing day.

Never would have known about Mindsight if someone hadn't mentioned it on PA's message board.

Welcome aboard.

Welcome Trina
same here - an ex - but now published elsewhere :-)
Enjoy the folks, share what you learn and we do the same.
Life is a lot more productive once you gain a bit of freedom. We are writers not book salespeople for other people who reap the profits. Back to writing and happier thoughts :-) :-) :-)

Well,
Since everyone else is moving over to this board, I though I would also.
I have been very un-happy with the way things are going over there, and want to associate with some nice people for a change. My name is Wilhem Mieners and...
Naw, I'm just kidding.
Glad to see you on board, Trina.

Actually, Willem Meiners has posted on this forum.

It was a while back and, if I recall correctly, at that time CE pretty much gave Meiners his version of a "mission statement" and after some discussion everybody seemed to be at peace with the purpose of this forum. Meiners visited it a number of times back in the early days and carried on conversations with me, Barbie, and I think Claudia and Nancy as well.

I'd really hate to leave this board and come back in a year and have everyone still talking about PA.

Well hello Tygree, long time no see. There are a lot of familiar faces here, including bill's. Joking aside, this has been a good place and like some of the others's, if someone hadn't posted the name on the PA board I wouldn't have know about it. Come to think of it, HB gave the person the name and he posted it on the board. So thanks HB.

OK Trina. It's just that you know a lot of people on that other board, how's that Steven, didn't mention PA...Ohh, damn, by their name there. Didn't know what you wanted to go by. I will call you Trina from now on though. You guys can call me H. Marcus Meiners, just kidding,

Well, what I mean to say is, PA has became a fetish for some. Folks go beyond venting....they sit in a corner and pet their PA idol and never write anything new, content to say THEY GOT ME THEY GOT ME. Yes they did. Brush yourself off and write anew!

Mr M must be laughing himself silly over how many words a day are wasted on this board and ab write (or where ever) concerning it all.
When I say WASTED I do not mean words of warning.

I mean the WASTE of words better spent writing.

Always wanted to cut and paste certain banned posters who wrote VOLUMES a day here...and then do a word count...and see how many THOUSANDS of words they spent a day on this subject matter.

Getting drawn into the topics myself is frustrating and at times...every so often I look down and say, "Oh great, ANOTHER PA thread!"

Please. I've had my heart broken, but I don't talk about it every danged day.

See ya'all

As I posted on a separate thread (somewhere on the board), while "the wound is fresh, it's hard to talk about anything but PA."

But Steven does make a valid point...had I written all the words I did complaining about this and that (price comes to mind) on my sequel, I probably would have been done by now, and well on the road to recovery.

Who knows?

Welcome, Trina...

Well I'm still a PA author and at this point they're my only publisher. I'm still writing though, every single day.

But no matter how well or how poorly my book has sold, because it is simple fiction, I don't have nearly the emotional investment that some others have in their work. I did not have any sort of message that I desperately wanted the world to hear. Mine was a fairy tale, pure and simple.

Now that doesn't mean that I don't value my work or that I consider it second rate. It's just not a pouring out of my Soul. I can (and did) write another. And more, many more after that. I wish that St Martin's Press would have bought my first book... but they didn't.

BTW, when I said my heart was broken, it wasn't by that company.
NOCTURNAL VACATIONS is full of stories. I can write more....have and will still.

Onward.

I can bitch along with everybody about PA, but I also write. I have at least four books going now, and about 65 more to write. It's still fresh, but it doesn't bother me that much anymore. When a new ex-PA comes over I will bitch with them and compare notes, it just seems to make and easier transaction. Well off to write.

Kevin
