Hey folks, the FREAKY FRIGHTS antho is now available in Paperback from LULU. My story that placed in the Romance catagory (even though it is more of a future-barbarian-romance-cannibal tale) called "We'll Always Have Paris" is in thsi PB.

A question for Steven...

This morning I found a post on a mystery writer's forum that was requesting short story & novella submissions for a "dollar download" ebook publisher. They pay 50% royalty on downloads.

Ever heard of such a thing? I'm a serious babe-in-the-woods when it comes to ebooks and short stories.

I have a short story that's never been published (Maybe if I'd submit it somewhere, that could change.) and I'd like to do something with it.

Echelon Press - which is a reputable e-book publisher - has dollar downloads on their site. Or used to. Some of the echelon authors feel it is quite successful.

Echelon is very reputable. Karen Syed (the owner) is fair, smart and savvy. Her dollar download line has been so successful that she is expanding on it and doing quite well. In fact, I just signed a contract for their Notable Novella line, for a story to come out in July.

That would be 50% of a dollar, yes.

Jenn, Gloria, & Lolly

You all got it right. Echelon Press is the publisher and the posting was from Karen Syed. She said they needed some mysteries. Perhaps I'll throw my hat in the ring.

I wrote the story for a Writer's Digest contest and missed the deadline. A couple of years later, I sent it to an International Alfred Hitchcock contest and it was one of three finalists. I didn't win so I put it back on my chair and have been sitting on it since.

The low standard is 25 cents a word. How about that math?

Steve, Laurel, Gloria, Jenn, Lynn

I apologize for all of my posts on this board. I've been far too positive, supportive, and enthusiastic about the business of writing...

In order to appear a more polished, professional I will take the lessons learned here and go to each and every thread posting something that will make everybody puke!!!!

Then it's off to Tinsel town where I've been promised the starring role in Mel Gibson's sequel, "Christ goes to Chicago" (Something about proving to these midwesterners that avacados belong on pizza)

And lets not forget every other writer's messageboard out there too Dennis... That'll show everyone how much you've learned!
