"Channel it in a way that leaves you with something to show for it." I have. Don't read a keen eye for facts and sticking to them as "aggression." I'm against ignorance wherever it is found. Post reliable information so people will know that the scoop is with the business. It's public service.

Best of luck with all that then. You certainly have more time than me to post on all of these boards. Volumes of words on these topics is a heck of a public service, I suppose... DR, I am perceptive, I guess. I am no genius. I just write stories. I recall the lyrics to Johnny Cash's SINGER OF SONGS from the recently released UNEARTHED box set... "I'm not a prophet, and I'm not a saint the man with the answer, I certainly ain't.... I won't tell you what's right or what's wrong.... I'm just a singer of songs.... But I can take you for a walk by a little country stream I can make you see through lover's eyes and understand their dreams I can make you hear a baby's laugh and hear the joy it brings yes I do it with the songs that I sing... I'm not a prophet and I'm not a priest I'm not a wise man who has come from the east I wouldn't tell you what is right or what is wrong I'm just a singer of songs.... But I can take you to a city where a man was crucified I can tell you how he lived and I can tell you why he died Yes I will help proclaim the glory of this mighty King Of Kings yes I do it with the songs that I sing I'm not a great man, I don't claim to be but when I meet my maker and he questions me I won't hang my head, I will say it proud and strong and say I was a singer, yes I was a singer of songs...." I wish I wrote it and kinda wish I could adapt it to the tales I tell... But those are some great words there. That is an example of WRITING

I just sold two more tales. One to ENTER THE REALM anthology (Benediction to the Mongrels) and one to BLACKEST DEATH VOL II. That story "Vestiges of Blessed Rot" isn't for the squeamish... www.stevenshrewsbury.com |

Thanks man.... Some have heard me mention the rough and tumbled Erik Bedlam series Peter Welmerink and I have been penning and searching for the correct pub. An excerpt is now online of the first tale at LISSNERS PULP FICTION site at the url http://thebestpulpfiction.com/stso/id226.html

I keep saying this, Steven, but it bears repeating. You are the most prolific writer I know. My hat is off to you. |

My hat is off to Steven also. He has character and integrity, something our esteemed leader lacks. Next time CEW decides to bury someone, he had better make sure they stay buried. http://www.fdungan.com/freedom.htm |

So Fred's spammed nearly EVERY thread in here? That's...odd. |

Well, thanks Lynn and Fred, I appreciate your words. I have written a number of these tales featuring Erik Bedlam and Alanis Johannson over the past several months with Peter J Welmerink. They are very fun to write, even if violent and raw...which makes the drudgery of work go faster. Writing should be fun as well as forward ones passions. Usually when I write a new tale it sees publication pretty fast or soon after, as it were...but these tales are awaiting proper placement....and I am sorta teasing now... I always enjoyed Fred's posts. One can never agree with everything one says, as evidenced by the variety of MINDS on a MINDSIGHT forum...I am glad Fred has returned from his banishment, or whatever it was exactly... www.stevenshrewsbury.com |

My impression was it was a self banishment. I also like a lively exchange of information. And Fred has always had a wealth of knowledge and some very pertinent ideas I like to read. However, I don't particularly like petulant repetitions of the same ol same ol. If the time ever comes that I don't like or respect the host of Mindsight or the majority of the posters, I will quietly move on and seek out different company - or seek solitary pursuits. That's not a suggestion, Fred. Just stating my individual way of doing things. |

It's good to see Fred again. Like many of you, I don't always agree with Fred but certainly respect his opinions. As a matter of fact we seem to share a lot of political viewpoints. He makes a lot of sense and his posts always offer a contribution to the site, very unlike the destructive, arrogant, and confrontational postings that were entered on this forum by the fool who became the catalyst for this unfortunate situation. It's a shame that emotions sometimes get in the way. |

Well, Fred, I see that you have decided you can't stay away from us. My offer to you is still open, but you will not be reinstated to member status unless you send an e-mail to me explaining your actions and words to me, personally. I won't demand an apology of you, I think I know you better than that, but at the moment, it does not seem that you intend to send any kind of e-mail. But don't be disillusioned - I can still keep you from posting here if you push it, I chose only to remove your member access based on your insistence on choosing to believe that I have in some way lied about certain things, and because of your simple gullability, and for your choice to blast away here at my website with nonsense. Yes, Fred, I suspended your user status. Yet despite your venomous words here toward me, I still (for some bizarre reason) extend to you the invite I mentioned before in the Mead Hall. If you want to come back, it's that simple. I'll be watching your posts though. Keep up the spiteful posts, and I'll block you all together. It's just that simple. CEW |

That makes me feel less senile, CEW. I KNEW he had not been banned and could not understand why he and others thought so when he very plainly said he was leaving (in the Mead Hall). Well darn. Now that I can't use senility as an excuse....I must do some work. |

Is this a public forum or isn't it? Why is it necessary to go behind closed doors to discuss these matters? Shades of PA - if someone had told me a month ago that this would be happening here, I would have laughed in their face. http://www.fdungan.com/vigilantes.htm |

Seems pretty simple, at least to my way of thinking. As I understand it, this is CE's site, the whole shebang; designed, built by, and paid for, by him. To me, my coming here is the same as when I go to someone's house. I come only if invited, and stay only at the host's forebearance. Or am I missing something? John |

You almost never see me on a soap box, so humor me, eh? First of all Fred, it's good to see you again. I'm still looking forward to meeting you some day. What happened on this board regarding Mark York was not a snap decision by CEW. Some of the members here had been asking to have him removed because of his disruptive and confrontational posts. In the beginning, I argued against it but eventually wearied of his self-serving diatribes and joined the rest in requesting that he be banned. Eventually CEW had to get rid of him or risk losing some of the solid members whose contributions have made this forum a respected gathering place. As you stated, it's a public forum. Our highways are public thoroughfares too but there are traffic laws that have been established for the good of that very same public. Reckless drivers need to be removed from traffic. I'm sorry if you don't see it that way, but the only motivation here was the preservation of something that works. |

John, As usual, you've hit the nail on the head. Good manners should also enter into any group dynamic. That may be considered old-fashioned since it seems many people are more concerned with what they consider to be "their" rights instead of what's good for everyone. Some things seem so obvious. Sigh. If I may step in here and answer a question... Lisa, The opening poem that gives us a peek inside the upcoming tales of Norse Berserker Erik Bedlam is now on my website and will soon appear on HIGH FANTASY ONLINE. http://www.stevenshrewsbury.com/fiction/bin/poetry-bedlamisalive.php and http://www.highfantasy.iwarp.com/catalog.html The main page of my website has also been updated. www.stevenshrewsbury.com Now, by all means, carry on with why Fred is or isn't banned...I'd hate to steer this forum in the direction of folks writing or displaying their writing etc...I forgot this is a spot for infighting and manhood comparisons...HEY I think there is a tree over there that hasn't been pissed on yet! I CALL IT!!!!
